With the Covid-19 lockdown in full swing, it was an ideal opportunity to make some passport holders for the day when we will finally be allowed to travel again!
Leather: Minerva Box for the external cover and Pueblo for the internal cover and card slots in Mosto & Olivia, both from the Badalassi Carlo tannery.
Thread: Vinimo #1 MTB 121 (Olivia) and 15 (Mosto)

The Royal Arms debossed into the leather using an acrylic stamp and a hydraulic press
Final image is a trade off between finer definition and darkened leather
The simple design incorporates a couple of card slots
The cut edges were burnished prior to stitch as strengthening loops would be made
Rounding the exposed edges prior to burnishing and glueing

Stitch line around passport slot only for aesthetics

Although there shouldn’t be too much pressure on the card slots, a strengthening loop was added at each side
An edge creaser was used to give some definition to the card slots
