Leather:
Sage Nubuck (1.4 – 1.6mm) & Tabacco Badalassi Carlo Wax (1.8 – 2.0mm)
Contrasting thread:
Vinymo 125 #1 on Nubuck & 121 #1 on Carlo Wax

A Diesel Punk design
Nubuck has slightly more elasticity so I wanted to make sure the strip around the base was a perfect fit. Hence I thought it best to tackle this first and built from the base up – big mistake! A decision that made most of the subsequent built far more difficult than it needed to be!
D-rings mounted to the lower section provide two alternative mounting points for attaching the bottom of the shoulder straps
Glueing and stitching the base to the lower section. I should have left this to last as it inhibits access to the inside of the rucksack when trying to stitch the lower and upper sections together.
Closing flap attached to upper secrion
Rolling the top edge gives durability
Stitched rolled edge and eyelets added for the closing cords
Additional strength is given to the grab handle by combining both types of leather

Adding D-rings to the ends of the grab handle
Contrasting stitching for the Carlo Wax and Nubuck
The grab handle doubles as the upper mounting points for the shoulder straps
Lower section of shoulder straps with swivel trigger clip
Again, the upper section of shoulder strap is strengthened by doubling the two leathers
Completed shoulder strap
