A last minute request came in to make an AirTag keyring case for a birthday present in a couple of weeks time. Not ideal timing: just before Christmas whilst on holiday and with a backlog of bags to make and a repair to a case to do! Searching the web came up with several different styles but the main thing is to be able to replace the AirTag battery periodically. Therefore the device needs to slot into a ‘pocket’ which is then held shut to stop it falling out – the two suitable fittings I had were a Sam Browne stud and a Chicago screw.
There was a slight preference for a tan/brown leather and personalised with their initials stamped on the rear. They’re ideal for using up scrap pieces of leather so I decided to make a few in a selection of colours:
Leather: Badalassi Carlo Minerva Box in Tobacco
Thread: 0.6mm or #5 Vinymo, Colour 125 with 2.45mm stitch length
Leather: Badalassi Carlo Nofin in Oliva
Thread: 0.6mm or #5 Vinymo, Colour 121 with 2.45mm stitch length
Leather: Badalassi Carlo Nofin in Nero
Thread: 0.6mm or #5 Vinymo, Colour 102 with 2.45mm stitch length
